Okay, I admit it -- I've been spending WAY too much of my free time in the DC Universe Online. I can't help it -- it's FUN. Besides, I have the Green Lama at the highest level (level 30), and he's now an official member of the Justice League! Woo hoo!
But, OH, the things the Green Lama had to get through to reach this level! Some of the missions are FUN, and some AREN't fun. (I now HATE Aquaman. I HATE him. HATE HIM! HATE HIM!) My favorite mission so far -- I got to help Hal and Ollie fight the Spectre! (Oracle: "Green Lantern has a ... HISTORY with the Spectre." Hee, hee!) Oh, MAN, that was fun. In all honesty, though, Ollie was pretty useless during that fight -- except he DID help keep me from getting knocked unconscious a few times. I guess that's a good thing.
In honor of Valentine's Day this month, the programmers created an "Aphrodite's Realm" scenario, which is darned funny. You enter the realm and automatically get turned into either a cherub or an imp, depending on whether or not you're a hero or villain. THEN you go on missions for either Aphrodite's or Circe's forces. It's a hoot.
Yes, I've been having fun, but I do have a bit of a wish list for the DCU Online:
1. The background music is good for the most part, but I would LOVE to be able to shut it off and/or substitute my own background music as a part of the game. Many PlayStation 3 games have a function that allows players to replace the background music with their own music, based on the MP3 files they have pre-loaded on their machines. I'd love to be able to do that with the DCU. Hey, some battles DEMAND to have Led Zeppelin playing in the background.
2. I would like to be able to delete missions out of my missions journal. If I can add missions, I should be able to remove them as well.
3. Player-to-player communication is still rather glitchy, and a pain in the neck to set up/navigate even when it isn't glitchy. I'm not sure what needs to be done, but I'd like the game to have a much more user-friendly chat interface and better Bluetooth functionality.
4. The DCU needs more one-player-only scenarios for Level 30 players. Yes, the team scenarios can be fun, but this is the DCU, not World of Warcraft. Most super-heroes and villains do NOT spend most of their time working with teams -- they usually work solo, and that's what the average DC player (and probably Marvel player as well) expects to be able to do. Besides, until the player-to-player communication functions improve, the team-ups aren't really as much fun as they could be: They're too difficult and frustrating to set up and maintain.
5. More environments! Running around Gotham and Metropolis is fun, but I want more places to go. How about some outer space missions on the moon, or something to that effect? How about a scenario set in the future with the Legion of Super-Heroes? I have heard a rumor that Coast City is going to be added, once the new Green Lantern movie is released. I HOPE that rumor is true.
6. I'd like to be able to forward images of my characters from my PS3 to my email address, so I can use them as icons, etc.
That's all!

This does sound like an unbelievable amount of fun.
heh, the suns shining out of Ollie's arse. I think he would approve.
I...I didn't even notice! It's just so perfect!
