Artist Ivan Reis is LEAVING Green Lantern!?!

Apparently, once the "Blackest Night" storyline wraps up later this year, artist Ivan Reis will no longer be illustrating the Green Lantern comic book.

This is all a plot by that evil Hector Hammond! You know he's profiting off of Hal's image!? It's true!

Someone has to stop him!

Hey, you have almost all five stages of the five-stage theory for grief!

May I suggest Hal getting hit in the head for one of them?

But seriously, even I think of Ivan Reis when I think of Green Lantern art. That is a real shame, but it's great that he managed to do such a long run on the title. It's hard to find that kind of dedication in a lot of comics.

Wow.
That's just all kinds of suck.

Well, you've summed up my feelings perfectly. When you think about it, we've been awfully blessed for the past couple of years, by having BOTH a wonderful writer AND a spectacular artist. The combination, unfortunately is usually rare.

I'm going to miss him something fierce.

Yes, yes, it DOES suck. Reis is my favorite GL artist since Neal Adams, goshdarnit!

PETE -- That eBay listing is nothing short of SCARY. :-) Hey, when are you gonna start posting on Fanwank again!?

Wow, even Sinestro is speechless with shock. How often does that happen?

In a way this has been a sad surprise but at the same time you cheered me up with the reactions of the pictures you posted :-P.

Thanks to Ivan Reis, Geoff Johns and others who've contributed, I've become a fan of Green Lantern for the past two years (i started with reading Rebirth). Reis will be missed but that will not stop me from continuing to read this wonderful DC series, it being my first ongoing DC book.
