Let's watch Superman smack Green Lantern around

Ha! You wish, fanboys. ;-) Believe it or not, the closest Superman has ever come to smacking Hal Jordan, in particular, around (for real) is when Hal was Parallax -- and as Parallax, Hal ended up cleaning Supes' clock. There have been some incidents of trash talking, though:

Actually, Superman never REALLY spoke that way to Hal. All of that happened in Hal's imagination.

Hal often gets slammed for having a poor imagination, but actually, Superman is a better trash-talker in Hal's imagination than he is during actual altercations:

So what kind of stuff goes on in SUPERMAN's imagination? Oh, just stuff like this:

Wow. Maybe Hal should be THANKFUL for not having a great imagination. Superman's is ... er ... disturbing, to say the least.

Oooh, yes.

The 'slowly getting bigger and bigger' superman cracked me up...

though not as much as the 'punish me daddy' superman! woo-hoo-haha!!

I love the way you make a little sketch out of these panels by binding them together. great stuff.

Woah! Who knew that Hal had such issues with Superman? And I'm rather surprised at Superman's yelling at Hal...he's usually so darned NICE. Unlike Ollie.

On the other hand, Superman was usually pretty obnoxious to Guy..who quite frankly probably deserved it...but still!

It's true that Superman IS generally a nice guy, but he's definitely had his moments of buttheadedness over the years.

You say that's the closest that Supes has come to smacking around Hal Jordan?

I beg to differ!

(And, yes it DID happen in the actual story, too. Although, in fairness, Hal let him do it on purpose, and they both were acting strategically to beat that issue's bad guy.)

Oh, CRUD, I totally forgot about that issue -- probably because, as you point out, it was all a setup between Supes and Hal. Good catch, 'Face!
