Meant to post last night, but ...

... we're still having storms galore here in good ol' Indiana. We have power outages, whole neighborhoods and towns under water, and some of the worst wind, lightning, and tornado damage I've seen in a long time. Last night a neighbor had a huge tree come crashing down in his front yard. He's VERY lucky the tree didn't land on his house -- the house would have been toast.

And right now, it's raining. AGAIN.

You KNOW it's bad when they have to mobilize the COAST GUARD to rescue people in Indiana. No, I'm not kidding. The Coast Guard really is here. It's that bad.

The ducks and geese seem to be enjoying the weather, at least.

Good thing Mighty Mite has been sleeping through all this!

The Coast Guard? In Indiana? Good Grief! Boy, the whole midwest is just getting clobbered. We've had the heat and humidity and few nasty thunderstorms, but nothing like what you've had to deal with.

I blame it all on Dick Cheney.

Oh, this is the kind of weather that old geezers LOVE to tell stories about years down the line. Someday I'll be hanging out on my front porch in a rocking chair and telling weird stories about the Storms of '08. ;-) And Mighty Mite will be rolling her eyes and sayin', "You've told this story a zillion times already, Mom!"
