"Ask nicely, and MAYBE we'll help!"

Justice League members seem to have some pretty strange notions about when they should actually step in to help somebody:

"...'cause, you know, damned if we're gonna help Green Lantern unless he follows emergency signal protocol or says 'pretty please.'"

Of course, Hal may just be stuck in the bathroom -- in which case Superman's attitude is perfectly understandable.

(But then ya gotta wonder, why is Superman spying on someone in the can ...? Ahh, never mind.)

Oh for...you know, SOMETIMES a fellow is strung up in a nice death trap and can't quite get his finger on the button of his @$#% call button!

Of course is Hal's case, he's probably lying around unconcious or something, from being hit in the head. Again.

It's probably just because it's Hal, because all too often in those early stories, it was Hal, not Superman, who bailed the JLA out of trouble in the end. (Hence Ollie's comment to Hal in Alex Ross's Justice, "It's always you, Hal.") So here, the JLA attitude is probably, "Yeah, let's see if Mr. Greenjeans can get out of this one by himself. Nyaaa!"

I'm just enjoying seeing them all so snippy and petty. Well...Superman anyway. Ollie is ALWAYS that way.
